What is Occupational Hygiene?
Occupational Hygiene is a specialist profession
within the field of occupational health and
safety. In particular, it is concerned with the
recognition, evaluation and control of
environmental hazards in the workplace which my
cause illness or impaired health.
What are some common hazards that an
Occupational Hygienist can assist with?
Some common hazards include workplace exposure
to asbestos and silica, hazardous chemicals,
welding fumes, solvent vapours, toxic gases and
high levels of noise.
